December is more than just the perfect time for team retrospectives. It is also one of the best times to have team-building activities. Doing so will help refresh everyone’s sense of camaraderie and get everyone pumped up to meet their goals for the new year.
Here are four activities that will help your real estate team grow closer and perform better in 2022.
Creating a Mission Statement Together
Welcome the new year by creating a new mission statement with your team. A mission statement serves as a reminder of the team’s purpose.
With each team member working individually and pushing themselves to meet their goals, they can lose sight of what brought you all together in the first place — to help one another and to build success as a team.
Creating a mission statement with everyone can help your real estate team members find their common purpose. It can also help them understand one another better.
Having Weekly Meetings
A lot of real estate teams hold year-end team check-ins or retrospectives. When you hold yours this December, use it as an opportunity to start holding weekly meetings.
These meetings don’t have to take too long. They can simply take 10 to 15 minutes of your morning. These meetings would give your team the chance to share tips, motivate each other, update you on their prospects, review regulations, and even recognize success.
Giving Team Awards
A year-end get-together is also the perfect opportunity to show appreciation to your team and to make plans for the coming year. Recognizing your team’s achievements and hard work over the past year is one of the best ways to motivate them to do better in the next one.
These awards don’t have to be particularly expensive or fancy. Personalized plaques are great but practical and fun rewards, like a bottle of wine, an Amazon gift card, or a spa gift certificate, would also be very well-received.
Giving out team awards doesn’t have to be a yearly event, too. You and your team can do it each month or at the end of every quarter.
Creating a Mentorship or Coaching Program
Having an experienced mentor or coach who can share tips and wisdom is a godsend is invaluable for real estate agents — especially new ones.
The benefits of a mentorship or coaching program can be what gives new real estate agents the push they need to get over the first-year hump. For experienced agents in your team, it can be what helps them push past their limits and stop plateauing.
A mentorship program can be as frequent as you need it to be or just once every quarter. Holding special coaching meetings and inviting other experienced agents will help your team gain more insider knowledge, new ways to generate leads, and create better strategies to market their brand.
All for One and One for All
When planning team-building activities, it helps to think back on what would have helped you when you were just starting as a new real estate agent. It’s also important to remember why you formed your team — to provide support and to help each other grow as agents.
